The Good Gang: Stories from Tak Takut Kids Club

Co-written with Lin Shiyun, the founder and executive director of 3 Pumpkins, who founded Tak Takut Kids Club, The Good Gang was launched in Singapore in November 2025. This was an almost two-year project that involved interviews with children and staff, writing, editing, and creative direction.

The Good Gang tells the stories of 10 children who face a whole range of issues such as domestic abuse, learning disabilities, sexual orientation, poverty and single-parent families. The stories revolve around the theme of social mobility, questioning the dominant, meritocratic narrative that puts children on a steep, upward trajectory to ‘success.’ But what if mobility works in a straight line? What if not everyone can keep u the climb or has the means to climb? How do we offer support, how do we become a Good Gang for these children?
